![]() Cheri McDonald Biography Cheri is a true native, born and raised in Seattle. She attended college in Seattle, graduating with a degree in Nursing in the mid 70’s. Initially in her nursing profession, she practiced mainly in the area of rehabilitative medicine at Northwest Hospital. Later, her experience as a regional manager of a paramedical company introduced her to insurance and financial service professionals. This is where her interest in combining her medical background with financial services began. Cheri initially became licensed in the individual insurance areas in the early 1980’s, specializing in disability income and long-term care insurance. From there her practice has expanded to include planning services, focused around the issues related to long term health care and disability. She holds designations of CLTC, RHU and LUTCF, is matriculated in the CFP/CLU program through the American College. The scope of her practice includes assisting clients and other financial service professionals with the implementation of the most suitable insurance products such as Long Term Health Care Insurance, Disability Insurance, and Life Insurance. Her mission is to help people make informed and wise choices about insurance products and services as it pertains to their overall financial plan. Cheri has been a featured speaker in the area of Long Term Care Planning for many of the Life Underwriters association meetings, sales congresses, and seminars as well as for the Independent Association of Financial Planners (now the "FPA"), and National Association of Personal Financial Advisors ("NAPFA"). She was a guest speaker for the King County Bar Association’s 1998 Spring Conference, and is also a requested volunteer speaker for the Senior Rights Assistance group. She is also one of several professionals certified to teach a mandatory course for insurance professionals desiring to sell Long Term Care insurance. Cheri resides in Bellevue with her husband of 25 years, Patrick. They have two sons, Sean Patrick age 16, and Christian Matthew age 8. When not involved in her business practice, Cheri likes to spend time with her family going to Husky football games, skiing in the winter, coaching children’s athletics, or attending Mariner baseball games. She also has a deep appreciation for music and is a member of the Westminster Chapel Choir.
