 Wm. Terry Wood, RHU Biography Wm. "Terry" Wood, RHU, is a co-founder of Lehmann/Wood & Associates, Inc. As a Registered Health Underwriter, he has over 30 years of experience in insurance sales, claims adjudication, and agency management. His insurance career began in 1968 when he worked for the Seattle branch office of CNA as a long term disability, specific loss, and medical claims adjuster. After working in this position in the Seattle and Los Angeles regional offices for five years, he joined CNA's field sales force as an agent, earning the Freshman Agent of the Year Award in 1974. In his first five years as an agent, he specialized in medical, disability and life insurance. In 1978, he formed Lehmann/Wood & Associates, Inc., with his long-time friend and associate, Spencer A. Lehmann. Since the formation of their agency, they have focused on group and individual medical and long term care insurance programs. The agency is currently staffed by four full time agents, a full time secretary and over 100 brokerage agents throughout the State of Washington AND in Maryland and Virginia. In 1984 Terry successfully completed the Registered Health Underwriter curriculum and was conferred the RHU designation by Northwest University. He is a Past President of the King County Association of Health Underwriters. He has served as the Health Insurance Chairman for the Washington Association of Life Underwriters (now Naifa) and Co-Chairman of the National Symposium Committee for the National Association of Health Underwriters. As a recognized expert in the long term care field, he has authored many media articles on the subject and served on the Washington State Insurance Commissioner's Long Term Care Task Force, which was responsible for the creation of our state's current long term care regulations. He served as a conference planner for the Washington State Senior Lobby for eight years, and served three terms as an elected PCO (Precinct Committee Officer) in the 5th Legislative District of King County. His most recent major accomplishment was "helping" his one and only daughter to graduate from college to begin her career as a third grade schoolteacher.
